Culinary advising is a crucial step for all culinary and pastry students. Advising allows us to ensure that there are enough seats available to culinary students by approving courses based on the student’s progression and status in the program.

Current and former culinary and pastry  students will need to follow the procedures below to meet the requirements for registration:

Step 1: Get Prepared

Plan for Advising.  Current culinary and pastry students must submit a student petition as part of the advising process to have culinary and pastry courses unlocked for registration.  We recommend reviewing your Degree Plan, Course Schedule, or Registration Eligibility Times to prepare for Culinary Advising and registration.

Classes may fill quickly and being prepared will ensure you get the classes you need.

STEP 2: Culinary Advising

Get classes unlocked. Culinary and pastry courses are not available for general registration and are locked.  Current and former culinary and pastry students must submit a student petition or meet with a Culinary Advisor each semester with their desired, eligible culinary and pastry courses unlocked for registration.

Returning students must submit an up-to-date food handler’s certificate on file and meet with an Area of Study Specialist to ensure their record is in good standing.

STEP 3: Registration

Sign up for classes. After you have met with an Area of Study Specialist and have submitted all the necessary documents, you are ready for registration. Log in to the Self-Service Tool to plan and register for unlocked culinary and pastry classes.

Contact the Culinary Arts Department with any questions regarding registration or the schedule.
