Welcome to our programs here at Austin Community College. It is our pleasure to assist you in your pursuit of a career within the growing industries of Hospitality Management and Event Planning.

Step 1: New to ACC
If you have graduated from high school or have a GED then you are ready to get started taking credit classes at ACC. Please review the Admissions web page for the step by step process for all students new to ACC. If you are a current ACC student, skip to Step 2.

Step 2: Learn More About Our Programs and Degrees Offered
Please review our programs

Step 3: Hospitality Department New Student Advising
A face to face Departmental Advising appointment is a required process for all first-time and returning students of the Hospitality and Meeting & Event Planning programs. In doing so, the department strategically approves you for classes based on your progression and status in the program.
Advising appointments are available through the below google calendar links. Select an Instructor of your choice, then sign in using a google email (either your ACC email or personal gmail account). Then select the next available appointment, be sure to note the arrows for future weeks.
To avoid scheduling errors, please ensure that your calendar’s time zone is set properly to Central.
*Please note that students are able to enroll in our introductory classes without an advising appointment.  Those courses are Introduction to Hospitality, Introduction to Conventions & Meetings, Travel Industry Management,  and Special Topics in Hospitality (HAMG 1191)*
Liz Hundley, Department Chair & Professor
Nichole Golden, Administrative Assistant
Please note that we only advise and provide granted petitions for courses within our programs; should you need to obtain an advising form please contact the department coordinated with the course.
If you should need assistance please email hospitalitydept@austincc.edu to help walk you through the process.

Step 4: Complete New Student Advising Form
You will select the courses with your adviser. Once the advising form is submitted, it will be reviewed by a departmental advisor. Courses will be unlocked and you will receive a confirmation email. If there are any concerns about you course selection we will contact you via email. Please be mindful of when you submit the form and allow time for processing. Please do not submit an advising form multiple times with the same courses requested.
