When Cindy Lo started RED VELVET 22 years ago, she did so with the mission to Outplan, Outplay and Outparty! RED VELVET is an international award-winning experiential agency that creates compelling experiences through design and collaboration for brands on the cusp of disruption. Prior to navigating and surviving the pandemic that devastated the hospitality industry, Cindy authored the book Behind the Red Velvet Curtain that openly shares how she built the company with just $8000 and no formal hospitality experience.

Fast forward to late August 2023, Cindy acquired Strong Events, the longest-running special events fabricator calling Austin home for 33 years. She is currently operating both companies separately with their respective teams and is enjoying using what she’s learned from her experience with RED VELVET to help scale and take Strong into their next chapter. Cindy calls Austin, Texas home with her husband of 20 years, their 2 children and Darwin their Frenchie.
