Hospitality Management and Meeting & Event Planning’s Mission and History:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

To fulfill its mission, the Programs of Hospitality Management and Meeting & Event Management will pursue four essential goals:<\/p>\n

We at Austin Community College are committed to teaching the creativity and commitment it takes to be successful in the hospitality industry.     Why Our Programs?<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n
    We make sure that the business entities of hotels, resorts, restaurants and convention centers have the capable professionals needed to manage such large, intricate and diverse businesses. We integrate management theory with practical business acumen, knowledge and skills, while also incorporating information about basic nutrition, food theory, marketing, statistics, and even geography.
    \nOur programs are accredited by both the Accreditation Council of Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP) and Southern Association of Colleges & Schools (SACS).<\/div>\n

    What Makes Our Programs Unique?<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n
    Quality and Variety of Programs<\/strong>
    \nWe offer both Associates of Applied Science Degrees and Certificates in two different fields: Hospitality Management\u00a0 and Meeting & Event Planning.
    \nWe offer an Associates of Applied Science degree in Hospitality Management-Baccalaureate Preparation designed specifically for transfer to a 4-year institution upon graduation or for transfer as general education credits.
    \nWe are among a handful of Meeting and Event Planning programs in the nation that offer a degree and certificate.
    \nConvenience<\/strong>
    \nWe offer courses in block time, so you can elect to attend a class once per week thus allowing you to work.
    \nWe offer courses both during the day and at night, to work with your schedule.
    \nWe offer departmental advising to ALL STUDENTS<\/em> each semester to help you stay on track.

    \nWe are active in our industry and community service programs
    \nWe assist with job and internship placement.

    Our Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Austin Community College District promotes student success and community development by providing affordable access, through traditional and distance learning modes, to higher education and workforce training, including appropriate applied baccalaureate degrees, in its service area.<\/p>\n

    To fulfill its mission, the college will provide, within its available resources, the mission elements prescribed by the State of Texas:<\/p>\n

    1. Vocational and technical programs of varying lengths leading to certificates or degrees.<\/li>\n
    2. Freshman- and sophomore-level academic courses leading to an associate degree or serving as the base of baccalaureate degree program at a four-year institution.<\/li>\n
