Find the answers here.<\/h3>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nWhen can I enroll in the internship class?<\/strong><br \/>\nIn order for your internship to count for class credit students must have completed 70% of their program credit hours prior to enrolling in the class.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">How many hours does internship require?<\/strong><br \/>\nIn order to successfully complete the internship class, students must complete 240 hours within a 9-16 week period based on the semester enrolled.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">How many hours a week do I need to work?<\/strong><br \/>\nTypically students work around 20 hours per week at their internship. However, this should be a discussion between the student and internship employer and an agreement of schedule should be settled upon that works for both parties.<br \/>\n<strong>Who is responsible for finding internship placement?<\/strong><br \/>\nUltimately, it is the student\u2019s responsibility to find their own internship. The department sends out weekly pre-approved internship opportunities that can assist you in your search. They can also be found <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/17hohLH4XuVFEMTy7oVL1Ivl6MIHvKJ1b2zsC9VmWNK0\/edit?usp=sharing\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">If I am pursuing multiple degrees\/certificates do I need to complete multiple internships?<\/strong><br \/>\nNo, we do not require students to complete an internship for each; however, we do encourage you to find an internship that can incorporate both.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">If I find an internship prior to semester can I start logging hours?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, students are able to start logging internship hours prior to the semester with written permission from the internship instructor. We understand that the industries do not run on semesters and we do not want the students to miss out on a great opportunity.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">Can I work at my internship when school is not in session (ex. Spring Break)?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, students are able to work during these \u201coff\u201d times and the department supports this as being an excellent time to gain valuable experience.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">Will I have to attend class and if so how many times?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, students will need to attend a few classes throughout the semester. During these classes the instructor will review managerial and leadership styles and information which you can utilize during your internship and help you complete your final project.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">How many assessments will I need to complete?<\/strong><br \/>\nDuring the semester the student will need to complete 4 assessments which will compose the final project.<br \/>\n<strong>Will the instructor come visit me on site during my internship?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, the internship instructor will complete at least one site visit during your internship.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">Will I be paid for my internship?<\/strong><br \/>\nThis all depends on the internship provider. Some companies are able to pay our interns and some are not. All internship experiences are valuable. Remember that if you go in to an internship and work hard, you may create future job opportunities and connections.\u00a0 International students, please make sure you contact the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/support-and-services\/services-for-students\/international-student-services\">International Student Services Office<\/a> to seek assistance in determining if you are eligible to get compensated for your internship.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Questions about our internship program? In order to successfully complete the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-296","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":{"layouts":[{"acf_fc_layout":"one_column","heading":"ACC Internship Agreement Form:","column_1":"<p><em>Completing the Required Internship Approval Form:\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Accessing the Internship Agreement -The internship agreement can be completed 2 ways:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Via our online form through:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/austincc.my.site.com\/learningbydoing\/s\/\"><strong>Internship Agreement Form<\/strong><\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>The online form is a 3 step process initiated by the student.<\/li>\n<li>The order is student, faculty and employer. In order for the form to be received by the instructor or employer the student must first complete their section of the form. This section asks for demographics and the instructor\/employer contact information or email.<\/li>\n<li>Students must use their ACC gmail\u00a0when entering their email information\n<ul>\n<li>The form will not accept an email address that is not in the ACC gmail format<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Once the email address for the instructor and employer has been entered and submitted section 2, the instructor section, is automatically sent out. The employer will be the last individual in the chain to receive the internship agreement.<\/li>\n<li>All parties will receive a digital copy of the completed agreements<\/li>\n<li>OEL will have records for all internship agreements available for department records<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>We designed this form to auto populate as MUCH information as possible. The Internship Agreement has been designed as a\u00a03 step process that begins with the student.\u00a0When they click the agreement they will see an &#8220;Employer Account Lookup&#8221; if that employer requested an intern with ACC they can select them from the dropdown menu. If their employer is NOT listed in the drop down then they will select &#8220;Can&#8217;t Find Account-Enter Employer Information Now&#8221;.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Students can save their progress at anytime throughout the agreement. Once they have hit submit, they will receive an email titled:\u00a0Verify: Signed Response for Form Internship Agreement<\/div>\n<div>Student&#8217;s must click that email and select the link provided in order to verify their signature.<\/div>\n<div>I&#8217;ve asked that the email title be changed to &#8220;Attention Agreement Incomplete&#8221; but they are unable to do so until Spring Semester.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Once students select the link, the faculty will receive an automatic email to access and review the form. The final person in the chain to receive the email will be the employer.
