Departmental advising is a required process for students in the Hospitality and Meeting & Event Planning programs. Department staff will strategically approve you for classes based on your progression and status in the program. A face to face appointment is mandatory for first time students<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"StudentsThe advising process is a critical step in ensuring enough seats are available to students within our programs; therefore, the majority of courses are locked. With the exception of introductory courses, a granted petition is needed to register for locked classes and can only be given through an advising session.

Step 1: Review Current Course Offerings<\/h3>\n

On the advising form, you will indicate the course(s) in which you would like to enroll. Review our current course offerings on the Course Schedule<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Program Review and Course Selection<\/h3>\n

Use your Self-Service<\/a> portal to access Student Planning and My Progress (within student planning).\u00a0 This will allow you to track your progress and see which classes you have left to complete.\u00a0 (see Step 3).\u00a0 To assist you in planning, please check out our Course Offering Chart<\/a> as all of our classes are not offered each semester.\u00a0 Please note they are subject to change.<\/p>\n

Step 3: Complete Current Student Granted Petition<\/h3>\n

Complete the Hospitality Advising Form. This form is to be used ONLY by students who have had previous face-to-face advising at least once.
\nStudent Advising Form<\/a><\/p>\n

Once the advising form is submitted, it will be reviewed by a departmental advisor. Courses will be unlocked and you will receive a confirmation email. If there are any concerns about you course selection we will contact you via email. Please be mindful of when you submit the form and allow time for processing. Please do not submit an advising form multiple times with the same courses requested.<\/p>\n
