{"id":2428,"date":"2025-10-07T16:07:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T16:07:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cht.austincc.edu\/hospitality\/?page_id=2428"},"modified":"2025-10-07T16:07:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T16:07:08","slug":"course-challenges","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cht.austincc.edu\/hospitality\/course-challenges\/","title":{"rendered":"Course Challenges"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">\n<h1>Course Challenges<\/h1>\n<div>\n<p><strong>We currently offer a course challenge for HAMG 1191- Business Professionalism.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to be eligible to take a challenge exam, the applicant must be a current or former ACC college-credit student and meet the course prerequisites and institutional enrollment requirements. Students must complete at least one college credit course in residence before challenge exam results will be recorded on an official transcript. A student receives credit by passing the exam with a grade of A or B. Not all courses at ACC may be challenged. A student may not challenge a course more than once. No student may challenge a course for which she\/he is currently enrolled or has a grade of A, B, C, D, F, I, W, or AU. Course challenge grades are not computed in students\u2019 grade point averages (GPA) nor do they count toward scholastic achievement awards in any given semester.<\/p>\n<h4>To challenge a course, a student must:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Obtain a Course Challenge Form from the<a href=\"https:\/\/offices.austincc.edu\/admissions-and-enrollment\/\"> Admissions and Records Office<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Obtain the signature of the appropriate academic or workforce dean, or department chair who approves the testing and assigns an instructor to administer the test. <em>Culinary Students, please see the Culinary Department Chair for signature.\u00a0 Hospitality Department Chair will sign off for Hospitality Students and administer the test for all programs.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Obtain the signature of the assigned full-time or part-time instructor who has previously taught the course at ACC and has agreed to administer and grade the challenge examination.<\/li>\n<li>Return the signed Course Challenge Form to the Admissions and Records Office.<\/li>\n<li>Pay a fee of $10 per credit hour, with a minimum of $30. The fee can be paid online at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/secure.touchnet.com\/C20395_ustores\/web\/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=464&amp;SINGLESTORE=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/secure.touchnet.com\/C20395_ustores\/web\/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID%3D464%26SINGLESTORE%3Dtrue&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1759937774589000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3XwlMWB1Hrp8eLCKBM4Kiq\">https:\/\/secure.touchnet.com\/C20395_ustores\/web\/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=464&amp;SINGLESTORE=true<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Take the Challenge Examination. The instructor submits all copies of the Challenge Form to the Admissions and Records Office.
